Ranchbot Series B funding fuels satellite-connected ranch water monitoring technology

Ranchbot Series B Tops $15 Million for Ranch Tech

Posted on August 20, 2026August 19, 2026 by Farm News Daily

The Ranchbot Series B funding round has closed at more than $15 million, and the news signals a major shift for one of agriculture’s fastest-growing technology companies. Lewis & Clark Partners led the round, which the company announced Aug. 10 from its new global headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. As part of the deal, Ranchbot completed a corporate restructuring that establishes Ranchbot Technology Holdings Inc., a Delaware corporation, as the group’s new parent company. For growers, ranchers and cattle producers watching agtech evolve, the raise marks a clear step forward for connected ranch management.

The financing brought together a strong syndicate of investors. Alongside Lewis & Clark Partners, participants included Fulcrum Global Capital, Builders VC, The Cultiv8 Livestock Technology Fund, Lever VC and Macdoch Ventures. Together, they raised over US$15 million, or roughly A$22 million. Because so many agriculture-focused funds joined, the round reflects broad confidence in ranch technology.

Why the Ranchbot Series B Matters for Ranchers

Ranchbot started as an Australian technology pioneer, and this raise pushes it toward becoming a global ranch technology leader. The company already supports more than 12,000 customers. Those producers manage roughly 10 million cattle and 15 million sheep across Australia, North America and other markets. As a result, the platform’s reach touches a meaningful share of the world’s livestock operations.

The technology centers on water management, one of ranching’s oldest and most manual chores. However, checking distant water tanks and troughs still eats up labor and fuel on many operations. Ranchbot uses state-of-the-art IoT devices and near real-time satellite connectivity to change that. Consequently, producers can monitor and effectively remote-control their operations from anywhere.

“Water is one of the most critical inputs in cattle production, yet managing water infrastructure remains highly manual across much of the industry,” said Chuck Warta, operating partner at Lewis & Clark Partners. He added that the team is excited to help Ranchbot build the leading water infrastructure management platform.

How Ranchbot Plans to Grow

Ranchbot will use the new capital to expand its team across the United States and Australia. Additionally, the company plans to improve existing products while developing new adjacent technologies. Leaders also intend to pursue partnerships that deliver more complete, integrated solutions. Therefore, the platform will deepen its water management tools while broadening toward livestock, wildlife and natural capital such as soil, pasture and biodiversity.

Andrew Coppin, co-founder and executive chairman of Ranchbot, framed the raise as a milestone earned over years of work. “This raise is an important milestone for our company and our dedicated team, who have worked for more than a decade to deliver solutions for the ranching and farming communities of the United States and Australia,” he said. Furthermore, he explained that the capital lets the company expand development across both hardware and software. “Together with our investors, we are investing in the future of ranching,” Coppin said.

Investors See a Large Market Ahead

The investors behind the Ranchbot Series B see room to grow. Duane Cantrell, managing partner at Fulcrum Global Capital, said the company transforms remote infrastructure into connected, actionable intelligence. Meanwhile, he pointed to Ranchbot’s mix of mission-critical hardware, recurring software and measurable customer return on investment.

James Caffyn, a partner at Lever VC, described the opportunity in plain terms. “Ranchbot is turning one of ranching’s oldest, most thankless chores into a user friendly, must-have platform with real-time satellite water monitoring that generates significant ROI for farmers, in a massive global market Ranchbot has barely begun to tap,” he said. Beyond the ranch, he noted, the data can help insurers, lenders and supply chain partners gain better visibility into livestock and land.

The timing feels deliberate. Labor shortages and rising input costs continue to reshape global agriculture. As a result, the resilience of the food supply chain matters more than ever. Ranchbot aims to build the technology layer for the modern ranch, giving producers a single, real-time view of the assets that matter most.

The company operates under the Ranchbot brand in the United States and international markets, and under the Farmbot brand in Australia. Founded in Sydney in 2014, Farmbot remains the origin of the company’s field-proven remote monitoring technology.

In short, the Ranchbot Series B delivers fresh capital, a new U.S. headquarters and a clear plan to scale. It matters because water and labor efficiency now sit at the center of livestock production. Finally, producers should watch how quickly Ranchbot expands its team and rolls out new tools across cattle and sheep operations in the months ahead. Details on the round appear on the Lewis & Clark Partners website, which shared the announcement.
