CattleCon 2027 Opens the Gates for Contests, Internships and Scholarships
CattleCon 2027 is already inviting cattle producers, families and students to get involved, months before the event kicks off. The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association announced that the convention returns to downtown Nashville, Tennessee, Feb. 2-4, 2027, with business meetings beginning Feb. 1. Applications are now open for several engaging opportunities, and many close Oct. 15.
The convention marks an encore for Nashville, a city known for its music, hospitality and Southern charm. Because CattleCon draws thousands of producers from across the country, early planning gives newcomers and veterans alike a chance to shape their experience. Additionally, the range of programs means there is something for nearly everyone in the beef community.
Sing Your Way to CattleCon 2027 With the National Anthem Contest
The 14th annual NCBA National Anthem Contest, sponsored by Norbrook, is accepting entries through Oct. 15. The winner will perform the “Star-Spangled Banner” at the Opening General Session. Additionally, the champion will sing during the Thursday night event at the historic Ryman Auditorium.
The prize package rewards that talent generously. The winner receives round-trip airfare to Nashville, a three-night hotel stay and complimentary convention registration. Furthermore, the champion takes home a pair of boots, jeans and a shirt from Roper or Stetson.
Any member or family member of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, American National CattleWomen or Cattlemen’s Beef Board may participate. However, previous winners are not eligible. Organizers will select the top four finalists by Oct. 21 and post their videos online. Meanwhile, public voting runs Nov. 5-25, with one vote per person per day, and the winner will be announced Dec. 1.
Beef’s Got Talent Welcomes Every Kind of Performer
Singers, poets, dancers and musicians can also apply for Beef’s Got Talent. Performers must submit a video by Oct. 15. Consequently, the top three acts will perform on the Marquee Stage during the convention. Finally, the winner will open at the Ryman Auditorium on Feb. 4.
Internships Offer a Behind-the-Scenes Look at CattleCon 2027
College students can gain hands-on experience through the annual convention internship program. Interns help set up the indoor arena, assist at committee meetings and support Cattlemen’s College. They also contribute to event management, marketing and the NCBA booth. As a result, students network with industry leaders while learning how a major event comes together.
The requirements are straightforward. Interns must work Jan. 31 through Feb. 5, 2027, and provide their own transportation to Nashville. Additionally, applicants must be at least junior-level students at an accredited university with a minimum 3.0 GPA. A background in the cattle or beef industry is required as well.
Interested students must complete the online Student Internship Application by Oct. 15. Furthermore, they must submit college transcripts, two letters of recommendation and a resume. Selected interns also receive a one-year NCBA student membership.
Scholarships Open Doors for Young Producers
Young producers, students, farmers and ranchers can apply for a scholarship to attend the convention. Recipients receive complimentary full registration and discounted housing. Because CattleCon is the largest event in the beef cattle business, a scholarship offers a valuable way to build connections. This support especially helps youth and first-time attendees expand their networks. The application deadline is Oct. 15.
