Agri Spray Drones rebrands as an agricultural drone manufacturer and technology company.

Agri Spray Drones Announces Next Chapter as Agricultural Drone Manufacturer and Technology Company

Posted on September 12, 2026September 18, 2026 by Farm News Daily

Agri Spray Drones has become an agricultural drone manufacturer and technology company, the Boonville, Missouri, business announced Aug. 31, 2026. For years, ASD sold and supported spray drones for growers across the country. Now the company is moving upstream. It plans to shape the products, software and autonomous systems its customers rely on. As a result, the operator experience gathered in thousands of fields will guide how future drones get built.

The shift marks a clear turning point. ASD is carrying firsthand knowledge into product development, quality control, software, autonomous systems and U.S. manufacturing. Because the company has trained operators and dealers for years, it understands what works during spray season and what does not. That perspective, it says, will now steer real product decisions.

Why the ASD Agricultural Drone Manufacturer Move Matters

The company’s goal is bigger than simply building a drone on American soil. Instead, ASD wants tighter control over quality, product design, software and its supply chain. Consequently, feedback from the field can reach decision-makers faster. That closer loop also gives ASD more direct responsibility for the technology it supports.

“We have spent years training operators, dealers, and service providers – supporting them through spray season and learning what works in the field and what creates unnecessary friction,” said Taylor Moreland, founder and CEO of Agri Spray Drones. “Now, we’re using those lessons to help shape the products, software and autonomous systems our customers will depend on next.”

ASD reaches operators through a nationwide dealer network, training programs, technical support and a deep parts inventory. Therefore, it sees both the value spray drones deliver and the headaches operators still face. Those insights, the company says, sit at the center of its new direction.

A Phased U.S. Manufacturing Roadmap

ASD laid out a three-year plan that builds gradually. For 2026, the company points to U.S.-based quality control, small-batch assembly, select U.S.-designed components and U.S.-based servers. Meanwhile, 2027 brings a ramp toward full-scale assembly, U.S.-managed software, a new U.S.-designed frame, more U.S.-made electronics and increased domestic sourcing.

The plan grows further in 2028. By then, ASD aims to expand U.S. sourcing of critical components. Additionally, it targets critical components plus at least 65 percent of total drone cost made in the United States.

Moreland urged patience about the timeline. “We’re not asking anyone to confuse the first step with the finish line,” he said. “We’ll be clear about where we are today and where we’re headed next.”

The Next Spray Drone Platform Takes Flight

The company also confirmed that its next spray drone platform is already in production. It serves as a bridge between ASD’s distribution history and the increasingly ASD-controlled products still to come. Built on a proven field foundation, the platform adds targeted upgrades drawn from real-world use.

Those improvements include more accurate and efficient application, more robust power connectivity, better component durability and easier serviceability. For example, operators should spend less time troubleshooting and more time spraying. Full details are expected later this year.

Toward an Autonomous Spray Operation

As an agricultural drone manufacturer, ASD is thinking well beyond the aircraft itself. The company is building an increasingly autonomous spray operation that trims repetitive work between flights. Its Drone Dock already automates the refill process, which reduces operator exposure to chemicals while improving efficiency.

That vision reframes how growers may view drone spraying. “The future isn’t one autonomous drone. It’s an autonomous operation,” Moreland said. In other words, ASD wants the whole system to work together, not just a single machine in the sky.

What Farmers Should Watch Next

ASD’s evolution into an agricultural drone manufacturer signals a broader push toward domestic production and smarter automation in agriculture. Because the roadmap stretches through 2028, growers can expect steady updates rather than one dramatic launch. The move matters because it ties product design directly to operator feedback, which could mean more reliable tools in the field.

For now, the next platform remains the headline to follow, with additional details promised later this year. Farmers, dealers and service providers should keep an eye on how ASD’s manufacturing goals hold up season by season. Consequently, this new chapter could reshape how autonomous spraying takes root across American farms.
